There is a great new block lotto going on in CFQG. Outhouse blocks! I love it! I want to win this one. Of course that is exactly what I need.......more blocks. But this one would be very much fun to have. I can't wait to see what the others come up with.
I took a look at my UFO Progress Sheet tonight. I haven't gotten very far at all. Of the 32 in there I have completed only 5. That is about 15.6%. Not a large margin for 1/2 the year already. And I have "unofficially" added two more, the LSU flag and the South Seas. But both of those are tops ready to sandwich. So that drops my percentage down to 14.7%. Ugh.
I now have resolved to find the scotch tape and tape it to my door. Since it wasn't doing any good just sitting in the computer. Maybe taped to my door will make it seem to be in the forefront.
And maybe I can do some fancy colors when I complete a quilt. Or maybe some gold stars or stickers. Do they make stickers for quilters?
Sigh........the buzz word tonight is COMPLETE!

Cyber Friends Quilt Guild winners announced
The winners were announced while we were in Canada and there were some really great wins for me.
There was First Place in Art Quilts with my Eiffel Tower.

I took first place in Miniature Quilts with my Journey to the Center of the Earth.
And there was a second place with my Valerie Skis! wall hanging. Valerie has that one out in Colorado but it should come to Louisiana when she moves here. I have to find it on my computer and put it in here for you to see how fabulous it is and that it should have won. LOL. Yep!
Matt's Baseball Quilt placed third in the largest entry in Medium Bed Quilts. I really wish that his quilt had won that category, but the New York Beauty Quilt that won went on to win Best in Show, so that wasn't too bad to be beaten by Judy!
Vacation
Just returned from a well deserved vacation. We flew to Calgary in Alberta Canada and spent the week driving between Banff and Jasper in the most beautiful country you can imagine! The mountains were spectacular, the quilt shops large and welcoming, and the waterfalls incredible.
Canadians were freindly and welcoming, the country is so clean compared to the south of Louisiana. Even the pit toilets along the highway in the wilderness were cleaner than most indoor facilities here!
I bought a lot of fabric and patterns at the 3 shops we visited. And I can't wait to get to work on my mountain roads!

Get me out of Guam!
If you read Mother Goose and Grimm in the funnies, you will know that their GPS system's name is Glenda. Funny, it sounds really funny. Nothing has ever been named my name before, well that is except the lady two doors down. Man, that is still weird after 24 years.
So I got my GPS (which is not named, but I do like the commercial where the GPS unit wants to wear the diamond necklace) and it is about 3 years old and has been screaming for an updated map. So I purchase one tonight. To my delight I find that the upgrade includes some extra voices and Canada. We will be in Banff, CA AB in a couple of weeks so I gleefully pay the $80 for the upgrade for Canada as well.
Fine.
I wade through the multiple tasks they set before me, and finally get it downloaded. I check out the voices section and find I can download some pretty cool voices. And I get two of them. Then I check out the newest color schemes, but decide not to change what I am used to.
So I restart my little updated GPS, whose belly is full of Canada and all the new streets in the United States of America. And I am happy, happy, happy.
Happy, that is, until I find that the GPS thinks I am in Guam. Nothing I do will make it understand that we are in Louisiana. I understand that there are many who think Louisiana is a Banana Republic but hey, do they grown bananas in Guam? (maybe they really do?)
My little GPS really believes we are in Guam. So I turn it off and back on multiple times. Nothing has changed, we are still in Guam. (at least we are not in Turkey) (or worse, Mexico).
I think I must have downloaded Guam when it asked for Canada. But then when I look at the choices, I see that there are many countries between Guam and Canada so my finger could not have slipped on the mouse and chosen Guam by mistake. Aughhhhhh! Get me out of Guam!
I type in a message to the Contact Us box on the Tom Tom website. I said, my GPS thinks we are in Guam, but we are in Louisiana. Help, there are gators swimming up to my car, I need directions!
glen: maybe I will get help fast.............
